'Deadpool' Sequel Is Confirmed To The Surprise Of Absolutely No One, Especially Deadpool

Stop the presses, because Deadpool's prediction has come to pass. All right, we don't need to stop any of the presses, because just about everyone saw this coming. Deadpool is getting a sequel, once again starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular merc with a mouth. After the first movie did so astronomically well at the box office, this really is nothing surprising, but it's always good to have it confirmed that fans can get what they want if only they... buy enough movie tickets. But, more importantly, fans will be delighted to know that Deadpool was also right about the second film featuring Cable, a character as beloved in the comics in connection to Deadpool as, well, Deadpool himself. I know I am.

Spoilers ahead, if you somehow haven't already seen the film, but the second bonus clip after the credits featured Deadpool announcing that Cable would be in the second Deadpool movie. Fox confirmed on Thursday alongside the news of the second film that Cable will, indeed, be in it, though his actual role remains a mystery. It's about time that Reynolds had such a hit movie on his hands, and the fact that it's a movie based on a character that he so clearly loves is all the more reason for him to feel vindicated. And fans get to reap the benefits.

Get ready for even more inappropriate humor on the way when Deadpool 2 hits theaters... eventually. Maybe we'll even get to see more than two X-Men this time.
