'The LEGO Movie' Bloopers are a Delight

by Alicia Lutes

As if it hasn't been said enough already, but: The LEGO Movie is awesome. Also awesome? The accompanying LEGO Movie blooper reel that the director duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller have put together. If you're one of the few people that haven't already seen the film — and really, at this point, what's the hold-up? — then you may want to spare yourself any spoilers that the following clip might contain, but you're going to want to watch this eventually. Trust.

Starring Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, and Morgran Freeman alongside a veritable smorgasbord of comedic talents — including Will Arnett, Charlie Day, Liam Neeson, Alison Brie, Nick Offerman, Will Forte, Jonah Hill, Dave Franco, Jake Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Cobie Smulders, Jorma Taccone, BIlly Dee Williams, Keegan-Michael Key, and even Channing Tatum — The LEGO Movie was bound to have a couple hilarious missteps or seven. So Lord and Miller took those voiceover snafus and brought them to animated life, rendering faux set-ups (complete with LEGO crew members, because nothing is more funny than literal authenticity) as backdrops for the silliness. Most notable are the numerous Batman quotes: probably because when Will Arnett talks, almost anything he says ends up being funny. Lucky us!

The video falls squarely in line with the duo's other efforts to support the film, including a truly goofy and delightful 4-minute featurette (that we will also link to below, because it, too, is necessary viewing) that talked to the LEGOs about their thoughts on the actors who were voicing them in the movie. It's all just wonderful and the best.
