Prince's Second Wife Is Incredibly Accomplished

by Kristie Rohwedder

On April 21, a devastating news item broke: Music icon Prince was found dead on Thursday morning. He was 57. Celebrities, fans, and the President of the United States have mourned the loss of the “When Doves Cry” artist, and the list of the bereaved includes Prince’s second wife, Manuela Testolini. When asked how she is coping with the death of her ex-husband, Testolini reportedly told Radar Online that she is “not okay.”

Testolini and the Purple Rain star were married from 2001 to 2006. According to People, the pair met when Testolini was working at Prince's charitable foundation.

Testolini, who earned a degree in Law and Sociology from York University in Toronto, has remained devoted to the charity sphere. She not only supports a few foundations, but also started Altru, a fragrance company that directly benefitted the The In A Perfect World Foundation. Testolini is the president and founder of TIAPWF, which, according to the site’s mission statement, is “a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the next generation by creating and supporting programs that provide education, mentoring and artistic expression to underserved and at-risk youth around the world.”

Testolini has since remarried: She and singer Eric Benét tied the knot in 2011, and the couple welcomed daughter Amoura Luna in 2014.
