Is Beyonce's 'Lemonade' On Spotify? — UPDATE

by Mallory Carra

Beyonce knows how to keep it mysterious. Her HBO special Lemonade premiered on Saturday night along with a visual album and I'm pretty sure it's going to be everyone's newest obsession by the end of the night. With Bey being the powerhouse singer that she is, I think it's safe to say this new visual album is going to have your ears craving more. But is Beyonce's Lemonade be available on Spotify? Right now, Lemonade is available on Tidal, but there's no sign of this brand new album on Spotify. I have to admit, though, I'm not surprised.

Update: For those who don't have Tidal, Beyonce's Lemonade was made available for purchase on iTunes on Monday, April 25 in both its Explicit and Clean forms. The download includes the entire Lemonade special, though not the individual music videos, which fans will have to watch the special in order to see. However, it still has yet to make its way onto Spotify.

Earlier: Tidal is exactly where her single "Formation" made its debut earlier this year. It also took about a year for her game-changing album Beyonce (Platinum edition) to hit Spotify for good. These days, artists seem to be turning to Tidal for their album premieres — earlier this year, Kanye West dropped his album Life of Pablo on the streaming service and Rihanna released her album Anti. So I guess us Spotify devotees are just going to have to wait it out — or go buy a Tidal membership. I mean, it's totally up to you and how you felt about the visually stunning and powerful Lemonade.

After so much mystery, Lemonade premiered on HBO on Saturday night as a poetic hour-long album of new songs and cinematic visuals — a full experience for both the eyes and ears. There was fire, nature, water, home movies, poetry by the venerable Warsan Shire, husband Jay-Z in a cameo, The Weeknd on a new song, and more. Most of all, there was so much emotion. So much that it's hard to digest in one go around, so I know you've got to take a deep breath and give this one a rewatch and relisten.
