Hiddleston & Carrie Fisher Are A Great WHCD Pair

by Caitlin Flynn

This is one pairing that we haven't seen on a red carpet before. On Saturday night, Tom Hiddleston and Carrie Fisher attended the White House Correspondents' Dinner together. However, before you start speculating about why exactly they walked the red carpet together, it appears they're simply hanging out because they are both guests of The Guardian. Fisher's official date for the evening is her dog (it doesn't get much better than that), but it's still awesome to see these two beloved stars hanging out together.

We almost got to see them onscreen together in Star Wars: Episode VII, but it sadly didn't work out. In 2012, Hiddleston told Digital Spy that he would consider a role in the film and he praised executive producer Kathleen Kennedy, with whom he's worked in the past. Perhaps after hanging out with Fisher this evening, he'll decide to join the Force for Star Wars: Episode VIII. A Hiddleston fangirl can dream, right? Plus, he (sort of) has Star Wars experience — he collaborated with Jennifer Lawrence, Daniel Radcliffe, Natalie Dormer, Bradley Cooper, and other stars to re-enact Star Wars in 86 seconds. And, yes, the results were as amazing as you'd expect:

Perhaps Fisher can convince Hiddleston to at least make a cameo in the next Star Wars movie. Sure, they're an unlikely pairing but one that totally works.

Props to The Guardian for bringing such great guests to the Dinner.
