Without knowing why or how, Katie Holmes at the Met Gala is something important each and every year. Like many things with the infamous Met Ball, I find it's best not to question this and instead just to accept it for the fantastical fashion event that it is. Plus, Holmes always looks amazing, and that's reason enough to attend, isn't it? I think so. Holmes at the 2015 Met Gala made major waves at last year's event, sporting a bob that, while most people were convinced was real at the time, was revealed a month later to be fake. Holmes fooled us all, so there was no telling what she had up her sleeve this year. At the 2016 Met Gala, Holmes went the exact opposite direction, sporting super long, straight hair. And, again — no idea if it's real or not. But, like most cases when it comes to celebrities' hair, does it really matter all that much whether it's real or not? It's all part of the look, am I right? And #TheLook rules at the Met Gala. That's what's important.
Holmes' 2016 look overall did not disappoint, even if it wasn't exactly what everyone was expecting. Wearing a simple, flowey floral gown with a sparkly detail and a statement necklace, Holmes looked like an absolute designer vision. Granted, it wasn't a truly shocking look to say the least. But it worked, in all of its bohemian glamour. One look at this clearly high fashion look and all those questions about why she's on the red carpet (since she's pretty low key these days, as celebrities go) suddenly disappear.
Very boho, right?
Dark and mysterious Katie has arrived.
I mean, the hair certainly looks real, right?
