Former Bachelor contestant and fan favorite Kacie B. is getting married and it's not to anyone on reality TV, yay! The lucky guy is music executive Rusty Gaston whom Kacie has previously called "the best boyfriend in the entire world" and "a great Christian guy." On Sunday she confirmed the couple's engagement by posting a picture to Instagram of her and Gaston holding "Mr. and Mrs." pillows. "I cannot believe I get to MARRY my best friend," she captioned the pic. "I am so blessed to have such an amazing man!! I just want everyone to know!!!#futuremrsgaston #bliss #love #mr&mrs"
It's great to hear that the Southern sweetheart has found her husband, and even better that he has nothing to do with reality television. In fact, Gaston is so private that he's one of the few Instagram users whose account is blocked to those who aren't his actual friends. Good for him!
America has watched Kacie's tumultuous journey to find love on reality television as she was rejected by not one, but two Bachelors.
Two years ago Kacie B. was a contestant on The Bachelor vying for Ben Flajnik's love. Unfortunately she didn't make it to the end and was sent home after hometown dates. But she felt she and Ben had a true connection and flew back to see him at his hotel where he rejected her again and she laid on the hotel hallway floor and cried.
It was a sad moment for Kacie, and also for America because though the show thrives off the drama, no one really likes seeing a woman cry on the floor because she's in love with a man who doesn't love her back.Fortunately Kacie rallied and said that watching the show back had "been therapeutic in helping [her] get over it."
She was so over it that she decided to try the whole experience again in 2013 when Sean Lowe was the Bachelor. I, like much of America, thought they would be a good couple because they had similar values, but for Lowe, they had already hung out too much as friends (in that wonderful Bachelor Family) and he couldn't quite get past that to start a real romance. So after a couple of weeks he sent Kacie B. packing again. After the show she spoke out about the experience saying, "I knew it wasn’t working. I was going to walk up to him and tell him, but I wanted to make sure it was a mutual decision. Things ended up working out for the best.”
And the best indeed as Lowe found his happy ending with Catherine Guidici and now Kacie B. is going to become Kacie G. and gets to marry her best friend who will hopefully never make her cry on the floor of a hallway.
