Lamar Odom Makes His Public Debut On 'KUWTK'

by Nicole Pomarico

It's crazy to think about how much progress Lamar Odom has made since his health scare last year, but he's come a long way, and Khloe Kardashian has stood by his side the entire time. And now that Keeping Up With The Kardashians is back, we get to take a peek into the journey he took after he came home from rehab, and that includes returning to his normal life. In this week's new episode, Lamar makes his first public appearance at Kanye West's fashion show, and it made just about everybody emotional.

In KUWTK time, Lamar has only recently come home from the rehab facility where he was recovering but hadn't been out in public quite yet. So when it came time for Kanye West's Fashion Week show where he premiered both his latest designs and his Life of Pablo album, it seemed like a pretty good opportunity. On the show, Kim revealed that Kanye had actually been pretty instrumental in Lamar's recovery. Before he was able to communicate verbally with everyone, Kanye would play him tracks from the album and rap and sing to him, and it helped Lamar out a lot. So what better way to come full circle than by stepping out in public for the first time at his show at Madison Square Garden?

But even though Khloe was nervous that such a high profile event would have been too stressful for him, she shouldn't have been. Lamar did awesome, despite the fact that it was obviously a huge show with thousands upon thousands of people in attendance. The rest of the family was there, including Caitlyn Jenner, and she and Lamar got to meet face to face for the first time, post-transition. And when it came time for Lamar to make his grand entrance, Kanye escorted him to his seat personally as a spotlight followed them and the entire area cheered.

As you can probably expect, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Everyone from the fam's fans to Kylie were tearing up to see Lamar healthy and happy again, and it really is an amazing thing to think that not too long ago, he was lying in a hospital where doctors expected him to die. As Khloe said, he wasn't walking a month and a half ago, but now? He's healthy enough to get on a plane and go to New York for a fashion show, and he even admitted that his next goal is to "get a ball in my hand."

After all he's come through, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Lamar back on the court again someday soon. Anything is possible!
