Who's The Most Popular Housewife On Social Media?

by Marenah Dobin

A lot of the women on Real Housewives think that they are the best and most popular Real Housewife, but "popularity" is something that can be a little tough to measure. One clear measure could be social media since the amount of followers are blatantly displayed, but it might not directly translate to who is the most well-liked since not every Real Housewives fan is a social media user (although I am sure that a good amount of them are). While we might not be able to tell which Housewife is truly the most popular, at the very least we can figure out which Real Housewife is the social media queen.

As far as I can tell, all of the Real Housewives (past and current) have Instagram and Twitter accounts, so it is a pretty fair playing field to measure. It's true that some of them have been Housewives longer than others and have had more time to accrue followers, but looking to the followers is still the most logical way to determine who the most popular Real Housewives stars are on social media, at least at this moment.

For the most part, the numbers are pretty consistent across both forms of social media, but weirdly enough the Real Housewives Instagram Queen and the Real Housewives Twitter Queen are two different people, but they are both from Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Kandi Burruss is the most people Real Housewife on Instagram with 3.5 million followers. This makes sense since pretty much everyone likes Kandi. She is one of the few Housewives who is likable all the time without being boring. She is a very successful musician, has constantly changing hairstyles, multiple business ventures, and a super cute new baby, so it makes perfect sense for people to want to see what she's up to. As far as the other Housewives go, another RHOA lady, Kim Zolciak, has 2 million followers, which I get since she has so many cute kids who she posts photos of. And Yolanda Foster has 1.8 million followers. I bet that number went up since her Instagram photos were highly debated throughout the entire most recent season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

NeNe Leakes has 1.7 million Instagram followers, so she is not the top dog on Instagram, but she is the Real Housewives Twitter star. NeNe has 1.87 million Twitter followers, which is logical since NeNe has so many good catchphrases, throws amazing shade, and is just always talking up a storm. I'm not at all shocked that so many people want to read her tweets. Kandi isn't too far behind with 1.63 million followers, which isn't surprising since, like I said before, pretty much everyone likes Kandi. Bethenny Frankel has 1.49 million Twitter followers, and that makes sense since Bethenny has to promote her brands and has a tendency to speak her mind on Twitter.

When it comes down it to, the RHOA ladies are dominating social media. They are sure of themselves, they have lots of businesses to promote, they are always changing up their appearance, and they have plenty of celeb friends. Plus, the series is insanely popular. In 2015, the ratings for RHOA were nearly double that of the other Housewives series, according to the New York Daily News. This all adds up to be a perfect recipe for social media dominance.
