Lucy Hale's Latest Updo Is Prom Hair Goals

by Augusta Statz

Prom season can be just as stressful as it is fun. I mean, finding the perfect gown and deciding how you’re going to do your hair and makeup is the best part of the entire process, but it’s also nerve-racking. If you don’t already have a hair strategy in place for the big night — fret not! Because Lucy Hale has your last minute prom hair sorted with her latest flower-filled updo.

On top of being absolutely adorable, this hairstyle is great because it can work no matter how long or short your hair may be. Hale’s sporting a bob haircut at the moment, and still managed to pull the look off flawlessly. So, for all you short haired girls, this is a good sign! Hale’s hairstyle consisted of a braided updo with tendrils left out to frame her face. The back of her head was adorned with real flowers and diamond studded bobby pins for a delicate, ethereal touch. Precious, right?

Whether you choose to use real flowers to match that corsage of yours or not, you can easily recreate this look. Flower accessories will look just as good as the real deal (plus— they won’t wilt by the end of the night). So, if you’re interested in a simple, yet gorgeous hairstyle for prom night, welp, I think you just found it!

Here's a view from the front. I just love how she left pieces down in the front. It really makes the 'do seem even more effortless.

And here it is from the back. Doesn't it just take your breath away?

Recreate this magical hair moment for yourself:

1. Braided Updo For Short Hair

This hairstyle is super simple to achieve, and it makes it easy to stick in flowers and other accents anywhere you please.

2. Dutch Braids For Medium Hair

If you can dutch braid (you're more talented than me), it'll be easy to achieve this braided hairstyle, and it'll look perfect for prom.

3. Braided Bun For Long Hair

This hairstyle is great for longer hair because it allows you to braid and twist a huge portion of your hair into a bun which will stay in place as you dance the night away. You definitely won't have to worry about braids falling out because you tried to hold too much of you hair's weight with bobby pins.

4. Leaf Crown
