The 'Real Housewives' Are Busy Ladies

by Allie Gemmill

When you think of the most interesting women on television, you've gotta hand it to the Real Housewives. They definitely know how make the most of their spotlight. More importantly, every franchise of the now-iconic Bravo reality series boasts a bevy of alums that know how to make the most of their star power off camera, too. These women are literal wunderkinds. They're moguls, moms and titans of industry. They're fearless in their business ventures. They're wise to what makes the world go round. They know how to run the game. Honestly, you could point to any one of the housewives blindfolded and you'd end up pointing in the direction of someone who is bucking stereotypes all over the place.

So what do these women do exactly when they aren't being hounded by cameras? Well, most of them are busy being legitimately amazing businesswomen. They're wives with lives and boy, do they really know how to run the show. There are some, like Bethenny Frankel (of Real Housewives of New York fame) that are literal moguls. Frankel started a little company called Skinnygirl and everything they make is actual magic. Others, like newly-minted housewife LeeAnne Locken (from Real Housewives of Dallas) are deep into the charity world and spend their time giving back to their community. Regardless of how they spend their time off camera, literally every woman in the Real Housewives world is ridiculously motivational in their ventures.

Some Run Successful Food & Beverage Companies

Of course you know about Bethenny and her Skinnygirl empire. Do you remember Orange County's Heather Dubrow launching Collette champagne or Teresa Giudice creating a line of special bellini cocktails —named Fabellini, naturally—and writing her own cookbooks? These are just of few of the more high-profile examples but these women capitalized on our need to munch and sip while we binge watch their shows.

Some Are Restauranteurs

Sur, Pump, The Brownstone...what do these restaurants have in common? Oh, just their owners. Why? Because their owners are some of the coolest housewives on the planet! Lisa Vanderpump is the owner of both Sur and Pump while Caroline Manzo owns The Brownstone. These eateries are hoppin' places, having served as the settings for some of the most dramatic moments on Real Housewives.

Some Are Amazing Entertainers

Whether they're making their mark on a television show or delivering us pop hit after pop hit, nobody entertains us quite like the housewives. Erika Jayne, Kandi Buruss, Kim Zolciak and Luann de Lesseps have all put their vocal stylings on display. Meanwhile, Kim Fields, Nene Leakes, Heather Dubrow, Kim Richards and Eileen Davidson have brought us on set to their many televised turns. If you've ever watched Days of Our Lives, Living Single or Glee , you've definitely seen one of these fantastically talented Real Housewives.

Some Are Super Charitable

Giving back is big for the Real Housewives. On Dallas, the charity world is an integral part of the community. While other franchises have parties that revolve around birthday parties or casual get togethers, the first season of Dallas has given us a glimpse into the rarefied air of the local charity world where LeeAnne Locken, Tiffany Hendra and Stephanie Hollman devote a large portion of their time giving back. Additionally, Lisa Vanderpump (a major champion of animal rights) and Kyle Richards have often hosted charity functions on Beverly Hills.

You Can Listen To Some Of Them Gab On Air

Did you think television and music were the only ways to get a regular Real Housewives fix? No way, honey! Both Brandi Glanville and Porsha Williams can be heard on the airwaves serving up realness like you wouldn't believe. Glanville hosts her own podcast called Brandi Glanville Unfiltered while Williams can be heard regularly contributing on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.

Some Have Their Own Spinoff Shows

Just because they aren't on the Real Housewives, doesn't mean the buck stops there! For the women of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, there have been enough spinoffs to last a lifetime. Kim Zolciak made sure we weren't tardy Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding . Kandi Burruss was at the center of The Kandi Factory, Kandi's Wedding and Kandi's Ski Trip. You better add them to the binge-watch list because every spinoff is pure magic.

No matter which way you slice it, these women are the definition of multi-facted and talented to boot. Doesn't it get you just the tiniest bit motivated? Before we go carpe that diem, I think I maybe we need to power up with a few Skinnygirl cocktails though.
