Look, I know celebrities are just people like everyone else, but it's hard not to freak out when you see someone famous or if you meet an actor or singer or author or anyone hugely popular, especially if you admire them. The time I actually come face to face with Tom Hiddleston (it will happen), obviously I will keep my cool, but I will be screaming on the inside. You know what? There are even celebs who have a strong reaction upon meeting a fellow famous face. See? They really are like us so-called normal folk. For example, on several occasions, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has freaked out over meeting a celebrity. Yes, it's as glorious as it sounds.
There's is something quite special about Clarke when it comes to the talented actor meeting celebrities. Not only are her reactions priceless, but the fact that she is so genuinely excited proves that she doesn't even consider herself this super famous human. And, just because she is a celebrity doesn't mean she can't love another actor or become giddy about them. As for the latter, well that's exactly what the 29-year-old star has done more than once.
With that, here are a few times when Clarke has let out her inner fan.
Matt LeBlanc
While appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Clarke met Matt LeBlanc. She was so ecstatic that she told the actor how obsessed she is with Friends. She even called him "wicked" and asked him to ask her Joey Tribbiani's favorite question, "How you doin?" Regarding the latter, he totally did and she definitely blushed. Who wouldn't?
Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan
In a May 2015 interview with Harper's Bazaar, Clarke dished about meeting Tatum and Dewan. She said,
Someone took a fantasy in my head and played it in real life. I was at a Golden Globes after-party and Channing F*cking Tatum came up to me, and his stunning missus, Jenna. And they said, "We call each other 'moon of my life' and 'my sun and stars' and all that." And I was like, "I cannot contain this. Please, can we all have something sexual together? You're both beautiful, even just a hug."
I think that's a typical reaction upon meeting the stunning couple.
Will Ferrell
What's so endearing about Clarke is that she admitted to geeking out when meeting Will Ferrell. Her Instagram caption even says so. Plus, she also couldn't help but quote Anchorman, which just goes to show you that she truly is a huge fan of the comedian.
Faye Dunaway
When it comes to meeting legends, Clarke also doesn't hold back her excitement. I mean, who wouldn't gush at least a little bit upon chatting and taking photos with Faye Dunaway? Clarke definitely did and wasn't ashamed to admit it on social media.
Andy Samberg
Who wouldn't enjoy meeting Andy Samberg? He's hilarious. Obviously, Clarke feels the same way. While at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, she shared a photo on Instagram and captioned it, "Ladies and gentleman the funniest man I may have ever met." I think they definitely hit it off.
Taylor Swift
As Clarke's fans can imagine, her reaction upon meeting Taylor Swift is exactly what you'd expect. She told Time Out London in May, "I wish I could be Taylor Swift. I met her and she was like, 'I’m really starstruck!' I just thought: What? You’re Taylor f*cking Swift. What are you talking about? We were chatting a little bit and in my mind I just wanted to ask, 'Does this mean I’m in your squad?'"
Leonardo DiCaprio
Technically, they haven't met yet, but read this quote from Clarke about DiCaprio and tell me their first meeting won't be glorious. She told Time Out London,
I keep ending up really close to him at events and I just can’t say hello. It’s too much. I’ve loved him so much since seeing Titanic when I was 11. Seriously, it’s been a problem. I just need to breathe the same air as him. That’s all I can manage.
Here's hoping Clarke and DiCaprio come face to face sooner rather than later, because that's one encounter I need to hear about, stat.
