I really feel for Caputo on Orange Is The New Black. The guy just can’t catch a break. First he nailed Fig to the wall to get his prison some fair treatment, then he realizes being a warden is not all it’s cracked up to be. He tries to fix his prison up, and then MCC comes in and makes it a total disaster. Now, Caputo seems to be interested in MCC employee Linda. These two are vibing as they’re coming up with new ways to streamline Litchfield. Who is Linda on Orange Is The New Black , and will she smash Caputo’s heart into tiny little pieces?
Linda, for the record, is pretty awful. She’s caught up in the whole MCC thing. When Caputo suggested using veterans (who are already trained in combat, so it kind of makes sense), Linda got really excited over the tax breaks. And then when he suggested housing them in those old cabins on campus? I thought Linda was going to explode. I get how she’s caught up in her job and everything, but she just proliferates the idea that the women at Litchfield aren’t human.
But, I do have to say that the woman who plays Linda, Beth Dover, is not awful. She's just a really good actor and writer known for movies like Life Partners and The Ten and TV shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Bob’s Burgers, Fresh Off The Boat, New Girl, and Children’s Hospital. She’s also married to Joe Lo Truglia, making them the funniest couple besides June Diane Raphael and Paul Scheer.
Anyway, I’m not really sure how this thing with Linda is going to end well for Caputo, there are a lot of different ways it could go down.
Linda & Caputo Fall In Love & Become Prison Machines
These two could really become Litchfield’s dream team. Caputo knows the prison and the inmates, and Linda knows how to make things profitable. Imagine what could happen if they become a couple and take over the prison? This is probably the best possible outcome — a combination of efficiency and humanity.
Linda Turns Caputo Into A Monster
Caputo has a conscience, and that’s not so great for him at Litchfield. He used to care about the inmates (and I think deep down he still does), but the work with MCC (and Linda) is making him think more about the bottom line than the people living in the prison. I hope Caputo can hold strong against Linda’s mentality.
Linda & Caputo Date, Break Up, & He Gets Fired
Litchfield has gone through quite a bit of change in the last season, so what’s a little more for good measure? If Linda and Caputo date and they break up and Caputo is sort of employed by MCC, can he get fired if she’s disgruntled? Is this a sexual harassment issue? I don’t know, but if Caputo gets fired, it will turn Litchfield into an even bigger tire fire.
While we don’t know much about Linda, I’m thinking that this woman means bad news to Caputo and Litchfield.
