Jenna Dewan Tatum Just Debuted The Next Hair Trend

by Augusta Statz

It seems to be all about throwbacks lately. Everything from chokers to bangs are back in style. But, the one hairstyle you thought would never make a comeback could be the exact thing that’s trending next. Jenna Dewan Tatum just debuted a perm on Instagram. Can she make this the next big thing? Umm, I’d be willing to bet!

The spiral hairdo couldn’t look more ‘80s, but somehow, it also couldn’t look better on her. She’s been rocking a lob cut for a while now, and while she’ll sometimes style the ‘do with waves, you’ve never seen her quite like this before.

She posted a picture of her latest hair transformation with the caption, “Anyone wanna bring back the spiral perm with me?” If you saw that sentence on its own you’d probably be screaming, “NO,” but when you see the accompanying photo, you think, “Actually, maybe.” Why not if it can look that good, you know?

Despite the fact that she hasn’t worn curls too often, she’s definitely convincing us that she can pull them off. If she can make a short, curly-haired perm work for her, then there’s seriously nothing she can’t do. Still not convinced this retro hairstyle can be cool again? Just wait for it.

See what I mean? She's quite convincing.

She has worn loose waves before, but we've never seen her with such corkscrew curls.

This length really works for her whether it's loosely curled, straight and even permed, apparently.

Because who says a shorter cut can't have versatility, you know?

She hasn't always kept her hair around her collar bone, but the shorter and curlier, the better.

So, if you thought perms were out ... well, think again. Because if Tatum has anything to do with it, they're definitely going to be in.

Let the perming begin!
