Justin Bieber Literally Falls Through The Stage

by Michelle McGahan

Justin Bieber is like a magic trick — now you see him, now you don't. At least, that's what happened on Thursday night when Bieber fell through a trap door on stage while performing in Saskatoon, Canada. In what is without question the most hilarious video I've seen all week (actual witch-like cackling may have ensued), Bieber was casually strolling across the stage when he accidentally fell down into what appears to be a trap door, straight-up disappearing in a second. As the screaming crowd gasped in surprise, Bieber immediately popped his head out like a meerkat and held up his hands in an "I'm fine" gesture — a relief to both fans and myself, because now that the Biebs is OK, I suddenly don't seem like a cold-hearted monster who laughs at the sight of him falling (I swear, the hilarity was all in how quickly he went down).

As the "Sorry" singer emerged from the pit, cautiously balancing himself as he climbed back onto the stage, he cracked a few jokes about the whole ordeal, revealing that the moment was actually pretty heart-racing.

"Good thing I'm like a cat and I landed on my feet," the Biebs said. "Oh my lord. That scared the f*ck outta me."

In all seriousness, I'm glad the guy is fine — that fall could've been a whole lot worse if those cat-like reflexes weren't so on-point. Of course, this isn't the first time that Bieber took a tumble while performing — back in April, he slipped on water and slid across the stage. Yikes.

This time, however, is allowed to be funny because of the circumstances (one second he's on top of the stage, the next second he's literally through the stage) and because he appeared to be completely unharmed. Startled, yes, but uninjured, fortunately. Plus, the off-the-cuff Bieber commentary (it's always a good day when the Biebs compares himself to a cat) just shows how smooth the pop superstar actually is. Taking a cue from Taylor Swift, Bieber just shook it off — even if he was still a little shaken up himself.
