Paris Train Derails, Killing 6 and Trapping Passengers

At least 8 passengers are dead after a Paris train derailed, according to BBC News.

The train, which had about 350 passengers, derailed shortly after leaving Paris around 5 PM. Friday. The train was headed to Limoges, a suburb of Paris. Two cars derailed, which caused more cars to be knocked off the track.

According to La Parisien , many passengers are still trapped on the train. At least 10 passengers are reported to be in serious condition. Investigators are still looking for the cause of the derailment, and all trains leaving Paris have been suspended.

Update: The death toll has been lowered to six, with at least nine gravely injured, according to France's Interior Ministry.
