How To Show Your 'GoT' Love Through This Hiatus

Patience has never been one of my strong suits, so when showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss announced that Game of Thrones Season 7 will be delayed in production for even longer than usual, I (along with the rest of the world) was severely distraught. I understand that "winter is here" and respect the fact that these seasonal changes come with consequences, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Our collective Game of Thrones Season 7 withdrawal struggle is very real, my friends, and needs to be treated with respect. Thankfully, there are multiple creative outlets at our disposal that allow us to show our love for the HBO hit series throughout this torturous hiatus.

If this were the '80s or '90s, we'd have a much harder time maintaining our obsessions during a TV drought such as this. But we live in the glorious, modern age of social media platforms that give us the tools to express ourselves in a multitude of ways. So if you're in the market for a few ideas of how to show your Game of Thrones love while (no-so) patiently waiting for Season 7's debut, here are a few helpful ways to go about doing that and spreading your Westeros wisdom to the masses.

1. Change Up Your Wardrobe

If you can't watch Game of Thrones, then you should at the very least wear Game of Thrones merchandise as often as possible. Fellow watchers will appreciate the style choice and admire your iron-clad dedication.

2. Create A Series Of Reddit Threads

There is nothing I love more than getting into an intense GoT discussion with people who love the show just as much as I do. Reddit is the perfect outlet for theorizing and predicting what Season 7 will have in store. Plus, other fans may make you aware of something from the show that you had never really picked up on before.

3. Write Your Own Fan-Fiction Novel

There have been a lot of different storylines introduced throughout the years and due to time constraints, some don't get the proper attention you may think they deserve. Use that to channel your own creative process and give those long-lost characters a voice and story arc you think they deserve.

4. See What The Stars Are Up To

Just because the show is on hiatus doesn't mean you can't social media stalk the cast to see what they're up to. It's not quite the same as seeing them bring their characters to life on-screen, but it's certainly better than nothing.

5. Throw A Game Of Thrones Viewing Party

Not only will this allow you to relive the series again, but it's a great opportunity to introduce new fans into the fold. Have some friends who have yet to get around to watching the show? This party is guaranteed to make a fan out of them by the end of the evening.

6. Start A Game Of Thrones Book Club

If you're a non-book reader, this gives you the chance to see what all the fuss is about. And even if you are one of the avid book readers, this gives you an opportunity to pass that passion and knowledge on to others. Either way, it's a win-win situation.

7. Let Your Meme Freak Fly

Because nothing is better than creating the ultimate Game of Thrones meme that can be shared between fellow fans for months to come.

Suffice to say, we don't need Season 7 to stay immersed within the GoT culture. Our collective obsession is powerful enough to withstand any hiatus the show can throw at us. Now get out there and make Westeros proud!
