Get Ready To Show Some Love To Your Fandom

by Laura Rosenfeld

Just because Sunday marks the end of another Comic-Con International in San Diego doesn't mean the fan fun can't continue throughout the night. Luckily, MTV will be airing its third annual Fandom Awards on Sunday, July 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT to keep the excitement going all weekend long. But you know what's sure to be a buzzkill: if you're not able to watch the MTV Fandom Awards because you don't have a TV or cable or something like that. That means you better figure out how to stream the 2016 MTV Fandom Awards online, and you better do it quick.

Since the MTV Fandom Awards celebrate the year in entertainment and the passionate followings that love them, I have a feeling that a lot of people are going to want to watch this event live so they can be there to support their favorites in TV, movies, and music. That's definitely the case if you voted for the winners of the awards categories. Either way, you're going to want to know who takes home these illustrious prizes, so you need to know how you're going to do that.

I wish I could tell you it was easy, but the difficulty level of keeping up with the MTV Fandom Awards probably doesn't matter to you anyway. You're not a fan because it's easy; you're a fan because it's who you are. Find out your best bets for catching this year's MTV Fandom Awards below.

Through The MTV Website

Of course, you'd try MTV's website first, duh. As of the time of this writing, it's unclear if there will be a free live stream of the event available through the website, but there is a link to view last year's awards show on demand in its entirety. It hasn't yet been announced if the same will occur for the 2016 MTV Fandom Awards after the show's initial broadcast, but it seems promising.

Through A Cable Provider

If you're looking for a way to live stream this year's MTV Fandom Awards, it's probably because you don't have cable. And that's a shame, because many cable providers allow you to live stream channels with a subscription. If you have access to log-in credentials to a cable provider's online or mobile live streaming service, all of your problems are solved. If not, move it along.

Through The MTV App

It's the 21st century, people, and we fortunately have apps for these types of situations. There's already a landing page for the 2016 MTV Fandom Awards in the network's official app, although there really isn't any content to show for it just yet. It's unclear as of the time of this writing, but it seems likely that you'll be able to view this year's MTV Fandom Awards on demand here after its original airing. Unfortunately, you'll need a cable provider log-in to do so, too.

Through Social Media

The voting for the "Fandom of the Year" category took place through various social media platforms, and since fans often take to the Interwebs to express their jubilation and outrage, it seems like if all else fails, you should be able to follow along with the awards show's official social media accounts as well as those of fans watching along in order to stay up to date with the event in real time.

But if you're a really big fan of the MTV Fandom Awards, you might want to invest in a cable subscription so you can be sure to catch every second of the show next year.
