Kim Kardashian's Latest Lip Liner Is Everything

When it comes to makeup, Kim Kardashian rarely goes outside the box, generally sticking to contoured cheekbones, sculpted brows, and smoldering smoky eyes. However, on Friday, Jul. 22 in Las Vegas, Kim Kardashian wore Kristen Lip Liner. That’s right: Kim K walked the red carpet in little sis Kylie Jenner’s Kristen Lip Liner from the Kylie Cosmetics line, as reported by the beauty brand on social media. Which, if you don’t already know, is one of Jenner's most vibrant new lip colors from her summer collection.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Kardashian hosted an evening at Hakkasan Nightclub in Las Vegas with a group of her girlfriends over the weekend, and, as per usual, she looked fabulous while posing on the red carpet. For what was reportedly her first appearance since the "Famous" drama, Kardashian opted for a form-fitting strapless dress, lace-up heels, slicked-back hair, and the pièce de résistance: Kylie Cosmetics' Kristen Lip Liner. While the all-black ensemble was chic, to say the least, Kim K's strawberry-colored pout stole the show.

It's no surprise that Kardashian was wearing one of Jenner's lip liners, as she has been spotted rocking Kylie Cosmetics lip hues on an occasion or two in the past. However, her color of choice was not what I expected, and I mean that in the best way possible. While Kardashian's signature makeup look is #goals, this new visage — statement lip and all — was a welcome change to the 35-year-old starlet's regular red carpet glam.

With half of summer remaining, there is no better time to break out a strawberry-colored statement lip. If you are worried about a bold lip being too much for your effortless summer aesthetic, then look to Kardashian's makeup for some inspiration.

Take a cue from Kim K and let your lip pop by keeping the rest of your hair and makeup relatively simple. Try slicking back your mane, going heavier on the highlight, and adding a little bit of sheen to the pout for a look that reads effortless glam.

Kristen, the color that Kardashian rocked on the red carpet on Friday night, happens to be a significant hue from Jenner's cosmetic line, and not just because her big sis wore it. The color, like a few other Lip Kits, is named after an important person in both sisters' lives, and this liner in particular is named after their mother.

Although it might seem like the strawberry-hued lip color is tricky to wear, Bustle's Kali Borovic pointed out that "the color doesn't seem to have blue or red undertones, meaning that a variety of different skin tones could wear this and still look great."

Even before Kim K was photographed with the strawberry statement lip on the red carpet, Kylie Cosmetics fans were crazy about the shade. In fact, they were so into it that the Kristen lip color sold out soon after launching.

As for the lucky ones who did get the Kristen Lip Kit, it seems like they are extremely pleased.
