This Was The Best Rio Opening Ceremony Uniform

by Sienna Fantozzi

The 2016 Olympics kicked off tonight with an epic Opening Ceremony in Rio, and in addition to a lot of fanfare, celebrities, and plenty of excitement and emotion — there was also some seriously fierce fashion. Though all of them were amazing, the best uniform at the Rio Olympics Opening Ceremony was a clear fan favorite, and it brought something totally innovative to the games.

It's kind of tough to pick a "best," because let's be real — all the uniforms rocked, but there was one that stood out just a little above the rest. And I'm not just saying that because I'm from America. Team USA definitely had the best uniform at the Olympics this year, and it's due in large part to that seriously sweet jacket.

Ralph Lauren has designed Team USA's uniforms for several games now, and we can always count on them to be consistent: preppy, all-American, and totally polished. But he shook things up this year, and it definitely brought a little extra wow-factor. Flag Bearer Michael Phelps wore a light-up jacket (the USA literally glowed on his back), and it was the perfect way to show everyone Team USA has totally arrived. Watch out!

Seriously, this could not be anymore epic. But the uniforms are pretty sweet from the front, too.

I mean, seriously...

But the standout is totally that jacket:
