Kate Upton Will Be The Face of Express, Proving Her World Takeover Is Almost Complete
Kate Upton is everywhere, so it comes as no surprise that she has landed yet another ad campaign. The model is already the current face of Sam Edelman and was featured in the 50th anniversary Swimsuit Edition of Sports Illustrated . And now, Kate Upton will be the face of Express.
The retailer has announced that Upton is the new brand ambassador and will be featured in the Express advertisements starting this fall. According to WWD, this is the first time in the past 10 years that a celebrity spokeswoman is to appear in an Express ad campaign.
Upton will host the spring runway show for Express this Thursday, to be held at the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach. Express is worth more than $2 billion, with 632 stores operating worldwide. The most recent outpost is a 22,500-square-foot location in Times Square. The clothing company is best known for a blend of professional and weekend-appropriate fashion at affordable prices.
Chairman and chief executive officer Michael Weiss discussed the partnership with WWD:
The new partnership highlights the mutual admiration between Express and Kate and is the culmination of two iconic American establishments coming together.
When you put it that way, the collaboration does make a lot of sense. Maybe Upton will bring some high-fashion cred to the mall brand's image the way that Miranda Kerr and the like do for H&M.
