Ciara Didn't Make It To The 2016 VMAs

Ciara has been having quite the year: First, she signed a contract with IMG Modeling Agency, then she got engaged to Russell Wilson. And she looks like a glam Barbie while she's doing it all. Sadly, Ciara skipped the 2016 VMAs, though. So unfortunately, we didn't get a show-stopping look from her tonight on the red carpet.

Once a singer/songwriter, Ciara quickly added even more to her professional repertoire than a beautiful voice and killer moves: She also grew into a total fashion icon and model. She's even covered an issue of Brides Magazine. Whether rocking a crop top in her everyday life or a gorgeous gown on the red carpet, Ciara always looks like an angel. But one of my favorite looks of hers has got to be that 2016 Grammys dress: A black and white creation with a serious thigh-high slit. It was the definition of sexy.

Besides her fabulous red carpet looks, however, I always remember Ciara's impeccable style in her music videos. From her sweatpants in "Like A Boy" to her lingerie look in "Dance Like We're Making Love," she can rock any aesthetic. That's why I was so stoked to see what she'd put on for the Aug. 28 awards.

My guess is that she's a little too busy with family time, though. Ciara posted an Instagram photo on Aug. 27 of her beautiful grandmother, leading me to believe she's at home and in lovely company.

She's likely spending some time with her family, kicking back, and relaxing before her next shoot. I'm not the only one wondering where she is, though.

Ciara, wherever you are, I know you're out there slaying. But next year, please, pretty please slay all of us. I'll be waiting patiently.
