Pretty Little Liars just finished wrapping up its summer finale and already many of us diehard fans are eager for the show's return — a feeling that was kicked into overdrive when it was announced that Wren is returning for Pretty Little Liars Season 7B. It's been a long time since this former Radley doctor set foot in Rosewood, meaning his appearance will definitely come with a specific purpose. And while we have yet to know the motives behind his upcoming visit, you can be rest assured that his time on the show won't just boil down to a brief cameo, because according to show creator I. Marlene King, Wren will be in multiple episodes of Season 7B.
"Well we'll see him in more than one episode, which is fantastic," King recently told reporters during a conference call. And when asked to sum up Julian Morris' return to the series in just one word, King described the experience as "fun" — a rare concept in the drama-filled world of Rosewood. Naturally, King couldn't reveal any major details regarding what Wren will be up to and whether it will be as a friend or a foe to the Liars. However, she did tease a little bit about who his first scene will be with and it's not who you would expect.
"When I first sat down to talk to Julian about coming [back], he had never had a scene with Ezra," King states. "He and Ian [Harding] are friends in real life, so he was like ‘please, can I have a scene with Ezra?’ So that was really the originator of the first scene that we’ll see Wren in when he comes back." Personally, I have no idea what could possibly bring these two characters together right off the bat. Is it a chance meeting at The Brew or does Wren actually seek Ezra out for something, and if so, what for?
Fans have always speculated that there's much more to Wren than meets the eye, and considering that Season 7B will serve as the show's final swan song, this would definitely be the time to give some validation to those theories. Or, even more shockingly, to perhaps disprove them. Either way, though, it'll be interesting to see what kind of dynamic Ezra and Wren will have together. Maybe this will be a new bromance in the making or the start of two wonderful frenemies. Suffice to say, April can't get here soon enough so we can all finally see how this will play out.
