Donald Glover Is Very Private About Dating

by Maitri Suhas

Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, is having a busy year. He's is debuting his new show, Atlanta, on FX on Tuesday, Sept. 6, and he's also reportedly joined the cast of Spiderman: Homecoming, after years of fans petitioning for him to play Peter Parker (he's not Spidey, but he won't disclose his role just yet). There are even rumors that Glover will star as a young Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars film about young Han Solo. Despite his profile widening, though, Glover is extremely private about his personal life, so if you're wondering if Donald Glover is dating anyone, your guess is as good as anyone else's.

A few years ago, there were rumors that Glover, 32, was dating singer Jhene Aiko, but even those rumors were never confirmed. Besides highly adoring words in interviews about one another, neither Glover nor Aiko confirmed that they were together, though they collaborate often and are good friends. In 2013 on an episode of the podcast The Juan Epstein Show, Glover was asked explicitly if he and Aiko had ever been together, and he said no, adding that he respected her because she wasn't about to be held down. "And this is kinda why like I love her. I think she’s special. She doesn’t need anyone," he said.

And don't bother looking for answers on Glover's social media accounts, because they're all but empty. There are currently two tweets on his Twitter, one to promote his Pharos shows and one that is a trailer for Atlanta. The same two posts are on his Instagram. Glover deleted all of his Instagram and Twitter posts back in 2013. As to why he went dark on social media, he said on Today in February 2014 that he wanted his content to be more meaningful out of respect for his fans: "I wanna make sure that when I put stuff up it’s for a reason. It counts. I don’t wanna just be posting up stuff about my dog all the time.” Although I am positive his fans would love to see his dog all the time.

So, if Glover is catching feelings for anyone, he's not about to be caught in the act.
