The Best Labor Day Sales Of 2016

by Melanie Richtman

Retailers will use almost any excuse to hold a sale and get customers into their stores, but I'm not complaining. As this is a long weekend, there are plenty of Labor Day sales going on that you should totally check out if you are in the need of a new outfit or really just want to buy those shoes you've been eyeing for a while.

Turns out Labor Day is one of the biggest shopping days of the year, which I suppose makes sense because there's really no better way to spend a day off of work than with a little shopping (or sleeping), and retailers definitely capitalize on this knowledge.

This weekend, there are plenty of sales going on, some specifically related to Labor Day, and others that just happen to be going on at the same time, but I'm very happy shopping both kinds. Best Buy has been getting a lot of attention for its sales recently, but the fashion and beauty sales are really where it's at. Labor Day sales end on Monday, Sept. 5, but they may get extended depending on how well they do.

Unfortunately, Sephora and Ulta are not having Labor Day sales this year, although Ulta's "21 Days of Beauty" promotion begins on Sept. 4, but plenty of other places will be doling out deals.

Here are a few Labor Day sales worth shopping...

BaubleBar

BaubleBar is known for its beautiful and affordable jewelry. This weekend, you will receive 20 percent off all sales items, and select pieces are up to 75 percent off.

American Apparel

It's time to stock up on bodysuits! For American Apparel's Labor Day sale, you'll get 25 percent off purchases of $100 or more. That's a lot of leotards...

Old Navy

Old Navy may not be the first store that comes to mind when you think of getting pieces for your fall wardrobe, but they've really stepped up their game recently and all jeans, tees and dresses are 50 percent off. Quite the deal.

Urban Outfitters

Now through Labor Day, you can get BOGO half off tees and tanks from Urban Outfitters, which is a great way to add some super stylish basics to your collection.

J.Crew

Spend $200 or more at J.Crew this weekend and get 30 percent off (saving you $60), or if you spend $125, you'll get 25 percent off. Not bad for J.Crew.
