17 2000s Emmys Outfits You Begged Your Parents For

by Rosie Narasaki

The 2000s aren't exactly regarded as the most fashionable decade (yet, anyway) — but you know what they did really well? The Emmys. Believe it or not, it was a really rich decade for the red carpet — in fact, there were tons of 2000s Emmys outfits you definitely begged your parents for. After all, those were the days when uber-stylish, New York-based shows like Sex and the City and Friends reigned supreme on the small screen. Stars of said programs — especially Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Aniston — really brought their A game, and I'm sure their fashion-obsessed onscreen counterparts would have been proud. Soon, those shows made way for a whole new generation of other fashion-conscious programs like Gossip Girl and Mad Men — and the rest is pretty much red carpet history.

Honestly, from Lucy Liu's stunning take on the naked dress back in 2000, all the way up to Blake Lively's showstopping red Versace in 2009, there were a lot of absolutely gorgeous dresses making their way down the red carpet — so, with all that in mind, let's take a look at some of the most covetable Emmy outfits from the 2000s! Prepare for next level nostalgia.
