Is This the Next 'Dexter'?

by Kate Ward

Seems Ray Donovan will soon become a household name. The Showtime series — about a Hollywood "fixer" — has been renewed for a second season just weeks after its Season 1 premiere.

According to a statement from Showtime, Ray Donovan, which stars Liev Schreiber, has brought the network success, thanks not only to respectable ratings, but quality reviews as well. "Ray Donovan is on track to be our biggest season one show ever," said network president David Nevins. "The extraordinarily talented creative team, coupled with the brilliant ensemble cast led by Liev Schreiber, have produced one of the hottest new dramas of the year. We are proud and excited to pick up another season."

The series, which follows the antihero format familiar to many TV shows, could prove to be a valuable replacement for Dexter, which will end its run on Showtime after its eight season ends this summer. Seems Ray's a good fixer after all.
