Jon Voight Didn't See The Brangelina News Coming

Jon Voight has been estranged from his daughter, Angelina Jolie, for years. So, it's not that much of a surprise that the Ray Donovan actor had no idea Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were ending their 12-year relationship before it was made public in the media. Still, though, that didn't stop him from commenting on it: 77-year-old Voight told Us Weekly of Brangelina's split that he had no idea what had happened, but would be sure to find out and see "Angie and the kids" soon. "Obviously something serious must have happened. I don’t know what it is and I know Angie loves the children dearly and they’re her priority in life and hopefully they’re OK. It’s a tough thing for them to go through." True. He forgot to add, "and for all humanity," though, but I think we can all grasp what he's going for.

Us Weekly also reported that Voight didn't even know when Brangelina got hitched in November 2014 in the surprise wedding of the century with their six children — Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8 — present. In fact, according to an interview with the tabloid at the time, the actor said, "it seems like it was very nice — and with all of the kids involved, it must have been a lot of fun and very beautiful. I'm happy for them. I didn’t know it was happening — it was Emmys week, so I wasn’t able to go."

Though it's not clear what the status of Voight's relationship with Jolie is at the moment, if it's anything close to good, perhaps this heartbreaking divorce will result in the two growing closer. I just want those affected by the Brangelina split to be at their happiest. Currently trying my dardnest to send positive vibes into the universe for the couple who made matrimony, charity, and having a huge family together seem like the best of options.
