This Is The Price Of Kat Von D's Metal Matte Set

by Amy Sciarretto

Can your wallet and/or budget handle another #ByeMoney moment? You should prepare to part with your cash, courtesy of Kat Von D's Metal Matte Palette, which is making its debut on Monday, Sept. 26 at Sephora.com. The limited edition, slim 'n' matte black case will cruise into Sephora stores on Friday, Oct. 7. So that's the digital and dual release date deal. The Metal Matte palette is right up there with the celeb tattoo artist and makeup guru's jewel-toned and sold-out Serpentina palette, which landed in the summer amid much well-deserved hype and fanfare, in terms of "must own" status. Kat Von D-evotees are clamoring for the Kat Von D Metal Matte palette, which holds 13 intensely pigmented, matte eyeshadows in rectangular pans. It also features nine metallic shades in circular pans. The shade spectrum is varied, ranging from black to blue to brown to nude. How much does the Kat Von D Metal Matte eyeshadow palette cost?

The palette will debit your bank account by $60. Considering that you get 22 eyeshadows, that shakes out to roughly less than $3 per shade. You get a lot of product, you can customize your look with endless pairings, and KVD shadows are known for their excellent, blendable texture.

You can go with an all-matte eye look or you can choose to go with different depths and dimensions by doing a matte wash and matte in the crease and adding the metallic shimmer on the brow bone or pop it in the inner corners. You can mix all those blues or you can totally go crazy and mix the blues and purples. The possibilities are limitless. That's what makes the Metal Matte palette worth that $60 spend.

If the palette sells out online upon the first launch, relax. Don't stress. You can always pick one up at Sephora next week.

The metallics are perfect for doing washes of color or accents.

The mattes look so velvety and buildable. The palette's layout also acts as a guide for pairing shades. You can follow that or go rogue and combine shades as you wish. But if you are more of a makeup novice, the proximity of shadow shades to one another suggests how to wear 'n' pair 'em.

Are you ready to mix and "matte" with Kat Von D's Metal Matte shadow palette? Heck yes you are!
