Niall Horan Isn't Just A Talented Singer
It's official: The former members of One Direction are trying to kill us all this week. First, Harry Styles covers a magazine and now this?! On Thursday, Niall Horan released his first solo single, and it has all the makings of a 1D hit... except for the fact that his other band members are missing. "This Town" is just simple enough to really let his talent shine through, but is Horan actually playing guitar on "This Town" himself, or did someone else record their playing for the song?
There's no clear answer to that question out there, but it seems pretty obvious that he is — and not just because he's literally playing the guitar in the music video that was also released for the song. He's actually a pretty skilled guitarist and has played in One Direction for years now. In fact, starting with their album, Midnight Memories , Horan began playing guitar on some of the band's songs, so it would only make sense that was really him playing on this track, too. Plus, Horan is even playing guitar in his Twitter profile photo. Not that I'm surprised, of course. Is there anything this beautiful little Irish cupcake cannot do?!
Horan seems pretty psyched about his newest adventure, and this single is just the beginning for him now that he's back in the studio again — not just singing but also stretching his guitar muscles. According to Just Jared, he released the following statement about his new music:
I’m excited to announce I have signed a record deal with Capitol Records USA and released my first solo song. Thank you to all the One Direction fans for your love and support as always. I’m looking forward to the next part of this journey together.
Sounds like a plan to me! Even if One Direction never gets back together (it hurt me to even type that), at least the music careers of its members won't die — especially not Horan. If this first single is any indication, his first solo album is going to be incredible. I can't wait to hear more from him. Move over, Zayn Malik!
