The only thing more terrifying than being robbed at gunpoint is being robbed at gunpoint in front of your children. Thus, as soon as I heard about the jewelry that had been stolen from Kim Kardashian in Paris, I was concerned. Were Saint and North West with Kim Kardashian during the robbery? My worry stemmed from the fact that Kardashian wasn't alone in Paris; she was visiting for Paris Fashion Week, and was also accompanied by her mother, Kris Jenner, and sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner. Earlier in the week, Kanye West had been a part of the group as well, before returning to the United States on Wednesday. I was nervous that it might have been a family affair, and that Kardashian and West's children might have been exposed to the traumatic event.
Thankfully, People has confirmed that Kardashian's 3-year-old daughter North and 9-month-old son Saint were "not involved" in the incident, which took place early Monday night. It appears that Kardashian was alone in the room when two masked men reportedly burst in, binding and gagging the star at gunpoint and allegedly locking her in the bathroom. They then reportedly made off with over $10 million in jewelry, as well as Kardashian's purse, two cell phones, and 1,000 euros.
Obviously, the first lucky thing is that Kardashian was "badly shaken but physically unharmed," according to her spokeswoman. However, it's also a huge relief to discover that the children weren't involved, especially given that North West has accompanied her mother to fashion shows before.
There's no official word on where Kardashian is now — and don't hold your breath, either, considering what happened the last time her location was widely known — but I have a feeling that she'll be surrounding herself with family and feeling as thankful as I am right now that North and Saint West are safe.
