What We Know About Kim K’s Robbers
In the early hours of Monday morning, Kim Kardashian faced a horrifying situation. While visiting Paris, France for Fashion Week, Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in her hotel room. Her rep confirms that the reality star is "badly shaken but physically unharmed," but how many robbers attacked her that night? According to what French officials tell the Associated Press, the thieves who attacked Kardashian are still at large. And although initial reports said that only two men were to blame for the incident, now, it sounds like five people are being sought by police, all of whom are still at large.
Per what police told Reuters, five masked men dressed as police entered the building where Kardashian was staying around 3 A.M. on Monday morning. Reportedly, only two of those men were actually inside her apartment, where they allegedly tied her up with packing tape, locked her in a bathroom, and proceeded to steal over $10 million worth of her belongings, including a ring, jewelry box, and two cell phones. Obviously, the situation would have been terrifying even with one attacker, but the fact that there were multiple robbers makes it even more scary, especially since it seems Kardashian was by herself at the time.
The Associated Press added that after the robbery, the perpetrators escaped on bicycles. And so far, the police have not been able to track them down, although the investigation is ongoing. According to what they've told Us Weekly, police think a "highly organized" gang is involved.
Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, said in a statement that she's fully behind the police's effort to find the thieves. Hidalgo's statement said:
I condemn the attack Kim Kardashian suffered last night in her hotel. She has my support and will always be welcome here in Paris. I have full confidence that the police force, as part of their investigation, will quickly identify and apprehend the perpetrators of these acts.
Kardashian has already left Paris, and her rep released the following statement about the incident to Bustle:
Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers. She is badly shaken but physically unharmed.
