What The 'Game of Thrones' Actors Really Look Like

by Mallory Schlossberg

In Westeros, looking good is tough. You've got White Walkers chasing you, constant blood shed, and hey — it's a war out there. Unsurprisingly, the actual cast member of Game of Thrones don't look too much like their bloody, war-stricken counterparts. In fact, some of them look quite differently! Except for Kit Harington (Jon Snow). He's still got those brown eyes and flowing locks, he just doesn't walk around with a furry cape. Jaime Lannister also looks the same, except he's got two hands in real life.

You may, in fact, be surprised to see that some of more gruesome characters are actually quite friendly looking in real life. Moreover, some of those plain characters are outright beauties. Some of the stunning characters are equally stunning in real life, but somehow look remarkably different. And some of those kids look completely different, thanks to that game-changer known as puberty.

Check out what some of Game of Thrones characters actually look like. You may be surprised!

Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright)

He's a functioning bi-ped! And he's gone through puberty.

Arya Stark (Maisie Williams)

Maisie Williams is the opposite of the dirty, on-the-run Arya.

Brienne of Tarth (Gwenodoline Christie)

Gwedoline Christie is actually stunning — far from the plain Brienne.

The Hound (Rory McCann)

Look, Ma! No burns!

Ygritte (Rose Leslie)

So that's what she looks like under all the layers....and when she's not shooting her paramour with a bow and arrow.

Osha (Natalie Tena)

Pretty different, right?

Hodor (Kristian Nairn)

He can also say more than "Hodor," in real life, too.

Prince Oberyn (Pedro Pascal)

Unsurprisingly, he's pretty suave looking in real life, too, just no power 'stache.

Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey)

She's a brunette, and she's got tattoos.

Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen)

Let's face it — the tortured, getting-your-manparts-cut-off look doesn't look good on anybody.

Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick)

She doesn't stray too far (those great curly locks are, in fact, hers), but look how feminine she looks outside of Westeros and in this realm!

Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance)

Wouldn't you say he looks less conniving in real life?

Ros (Esme Bianco)

You would never guess she played a prostitute who was killed with a bow and arrow.

Danaerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke)

Still stunning, just no blonde locks — or dragons.
