Victoria Beckham For Target Is Going To Be Great

Are you a charming, yet functional person? Well, you're in luck: Victoria Beckham is collaborating with Target on a collection of more than 200 items for women and kids, a limited edition line that "reflects the charming, yet functional essence" of her designs, according to press materials. Officially my favorite way to describe something ever, the Victoria Beckham for Target collection launches in April. The brand writes that most items will be under $40 and come in sizes XS-3X for women, a world of accessibility away from Beckham's eponymous label and the diffusion Victoria, Victoria Beckham (VVB) line that inspired the Target collection.

Available at all Target stores and Target.com on Apr. 9, 2017, the collab will feature both original designs and inspiration from iconic silhouettes, according to Business Wire. In an interview posted on Target's blog, Beckham says, "The collections within VVB are fun and full of character, but always stay true to the refined brand spirit. The line of women’s and childrenswear that I have created with Target perfectly encapsulates the spirit of VVB and features some of the earlier silhouettes that the category originally became known for."

This is Beckham's first venture into designing for kids, and in my dreams the collection is full of mini sharp-shouldered blazers and sheath dresses, for the CEO of any kindergarten class. Beckham says her experience as a mother informed the designs, so that probably won't happen, but a woman can dream.

"I have had years of learning that function is often just as important as form, and that children need to be able to feel comfortable and free in what they wear. For me it was really all about finding a balance between the fun elements and the real-life functionality of a garment."

The brand hasn't released photos of the Victoria Beckham for Target collection yet, but given the spare, sophisticated cuts in her other lines, I'm hoping for the best.

And given the excitement (read: hysteria) Target's other collabs have induced, this will be one to mark your calendar for. The collection will be available from Apr. 9 through Apr. 30, or while supplies last. Ah, the dreaded "while supplies last."
