Because, sometimes, all it takes is a mother's influence. Case in point, in a sincere birthday shout out from Jenner to to Kardashian, the reality star effortlessly proved that her daughter is so much more than a celebrity. She appealed to the reality star's pre-fame side and depicted her daughter as she knows her best — the person away from the cameras.

In her Instagram caption for a collage of throwback pictures of, no pun intended, little Kim, Jenner wrote,

And, somehow, with the knowledge that the media mogul has gone radio silent since her harrowing robbery experience, this birthday wish feels all the more important. In her absence, Jenner brought the "real" Kim Kardashian to the forefront.
