Roald Dahl-Inspired Kids' Clothing Line Is Magic

British clothier Boden has released a Roald Dahl children's clothing line that will make you completely jealous of any kid lucky enough to wear it. The Mini Boden collection features shirts, skirts, pants, and outerwear based on Dahl's most famous novels, including Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, and The Fantastic Mr Fox. Did I mention every item comes with a collectible bookmark?

Sep. 13 marked Dahl's 100th birthday. Best known for his offbeat children's tales, in which kids beat adult baddies with ingenuity and a little bit of magical influence, Dahl also published "macabre and mysterious stories" for adults. In 1961, he published James and the Giant Peach. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory followed, three years later. Before his death in 1990, Dahl would go on to publish 19 books for children of all ages.

Boden is also celebrating a landmark anniversary this year. The British clothing retailer turns 25 this year, and has plans to triple its bricks-and-mortar stores in the U.K. and expand Mini Boden to the Chinese market.

Some pieces in the collection — including these adorable Mrs Fox overalls and Matilda's navy blue alphabet soup dress — have already sold out on Boden's website, but you can still find some of the best items from this Roald Dahl-inspired children's clothing line lurking on other retailers' websites. At the time of this writing, Nordstrom has that coveted Willy Wonka jacket in stock, so get on it while you can.

Here are some of my favorite items from the collection.

1. Fantastic Raglan T-Shirt

$29.50, Boden

My love for raglan tees aside, this shirt really is fantastic. Not only does it show off your love of The Fantastic Mr Fox, but it also doubles as a Dr. Who reference. Win-win!

2. Creepy-Crawly Friends Skirt

$54.50, Boden

This James and the Giant Peach-inspired skirt has plenty of tulle for volume, plus a "sparkly gold waistband" to balance out the buggy embellishments.

3. Golden Ticket Sweatshirt

$48.50, Boden

Y'all. Y'ALL. It's like those mermaid pillows. One swipe of your hand, and the sequins flip to invert the colors. Swipe back to make everything gold again. It's as magical as Wonka and I want one in my size. Don't you?
