Idris Elba Just Got Even Hotter

by Jordana Lipsitz

Idris Elba has proved time and time again he can do pretty much anything he puts his mind to. Acting in serious roles? He nails it. DJing? He does that too as DJ Driis. Singing? Yep, he does that too. But Elba has now taken on a new task: professional kickboxing. The star of The Wire and Luther decided to try his hand at kickboxing and Muay Thai for a three-part documentary series on Discovery Channel, Idris Elba: Fighter which is airing in early 2017, and there's video of his recent professional debut — taken by none other than Madonna. Yes, really.

Elba made his debut as a kickboxer at London's York Hall on Friday, Oct. 28, and he won the fight. Madonna, who is rumored to be in a relationship with Elba, recorded a video of the quadruple-threat as he "smashes it" which she shared on her personal Instagram account. Elba has been training across the world for the three-part documentary series and his efforts show in the video. I wouldn't want to get into a fight with him, but I certainly don't mind watching him do battle. That man's body in those simple black shorts is delightful.

Elba himself has shared some photos and videos of his progress as a professional kickboxer on his own Instagram account:

But like, those back muscles. Oh, my.

Elba clearly had the right attitude for the sporting event. In the photo above, which he shared a few weeks before the fight he looks tough and concentrated. The caption reads, "In times like these, when SURVIVAL is the game, let's play on." It seems he kept that attitude going for his successful big match. Personally, I've never had much of an interest in any sort of fighting event, but Elba can make anything interesting. As long as he keeps fighting in matches, I'll be watching.
