Cast Your Vote For Goodreads' Best Books of 2016

by Buffy Flores

2016 is nearing its end, which means it's time to reflect on the year. One fun, positive way to do this — because lord knows 2016 was a disaster — is to raise up and honor some of the best books this year has had to offer. Spanning genres, the Goodreads Choice Awards 2016 gives the power to the people to decide what books were the best of the best.

The categories for the awards are: Fiction, Mystery & Thriller, Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Romance, Science Fiction, Horror, Humor, Nonfiction, Memoir & Autobiography, History & Biography, Science & Technology, Food & Cookbooks, Graphic Novels & Comics, Poetry, Debut Goodreads Author, Young Adult Fiction, Young Adult Fantasy, Middle Grade & Children's, and Picture Books. I know! That's a lot! But on Goodreads, every genre, and every type of book is given a chance to shine.

You might just find some of your favorite books in the running this year, like The Girls by Emma Cline, The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, Where Am I Now? by Mara Wilson (Matilda), You Can't Touch My Hair by Phoebe Robinson, and Shrill by Lindy West. At the very least, you're bound to find one book that stood out to you this year.

So get to voting, before it's too late! Just a heads up that voting does not allow you to see the results in advance, so you'll, unfortunately, have to wait to see if your books won. Click here to start casting your vote.
