The Final Five's CMAs Looks Are Far From Leotards

by Jessica Thomas

On the heels of their amazing performances in Rio, the five Olympic gymnasts known as the Final Five are in high demand at awards shows, parties, and everything in between. They've proved they all have serious senses of style off the gym floor, and the Final Five's looks at the 2016 CMAs continued that trend.

Laurie Hernandez, Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Madison Kocian, and Gabby Douglas all showed up at the 2016 CMAs in Nashville to present the first award of the night, Single of the Year. The award went to singer Thomas Rhett for his "Die a Happy Man," but I was paying more attention to the gorgeous dresses the gymnasts were all wearing. After seeing them compete in leotards for weeks straight this summer during the Rio Olympics, I knew the team was partial to a lot of sparkle. And what better place to show that off in real life than at the Country Music Awards?

Laurie Hernandez, who's currently competing on ABC's Dancing with the Stars, actually had the least sparkly look of the bunch, but who can blame her? She's rocking some serious sequins on DWTS every week, so I don't blame her for needing a little break. Here's the whole team's looks:

Don't you love it? All their dresses are different enough that they stand out on their own, but their personalities totally shine through.

Don't you love this lace number on Hernandez? It makes her look so grown up.

Biles' sequined halter dress was definitely glam, but I love the neutral tone.

Raisman's look was the most daring of the night, and I love the subtle homage to her gymnastics leotard uniform. But the full pink skirt? That's pure country.

Kocian's bright blue dress added the perfect pop of color to the rest of their looks.

Douglas's high-low dress was dramatic and perfect for the occasion.

And here they are presenting the award. Don't their dresses look great together? It's good to see some of Rio's biggest stars still in the spotlight a few months later.
