Will Kanye Become Less Public Like Kim?

by Nicole Pomarico

The end of 2016 has definitely been a roller coaster for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. After Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in October during a trip to France for Fashion Week, the family had to deal with yet another scary ordeal when Kanye West was hospitalized last week for exhaustion. But as of Wednesday, E! reported that West was released from the hospital, and now that he's home, I'm interested to see how (or if) he will change following this incident. Will he reschedule his Saint Pablo concert dates and go back to being the Kanye West we all know and love, or will his hospital stay influence the way he lives his life from now on?

Normally, there'd be no question in my mind about it — he's Kanye West, and I can't imagine living in a world without his outspoken commentary on the music industry and the world in general, even if I don't always agree with what he's saying. Part of him being who he is is the fact that he lives his life loudly, and there are few things that could change that. But after seeing the change in Kardashian after her attack, it seems possible that we might see a new West from here on out.

Judging by Kardashian's behavior, if West follows suit, he might end up becoming a totally different person. For the past two months, Kardashian has successfully avoided the spotlight and social media. I never thought the time would come when her random thoughts or her photos of what North is doing weren't things I scrolled past on my phone as part of my daily routine, but it's here. And although I hope she feels comfortable enough to share herself and her life with her fans and followers again someday, for now, she's choosing to stay quiet. If West decides to take a page out of her book, his new reality could look very similar.

And even though it's early, there could already be evidence of that happening. According to TMZ, West reportedly has no plans to reschedule his canceled tour dates, which is a little jarring if true since there were 21 dates left when he called the whole thing off. He's also remained pretty quiet on social media, much like Kardashian has, and I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to lay low for a bit.

My theory for what his future will be like? I think West will withdraw for awhile while he recovers, but eventually, he'll return to his old self. The West we've known and loved for so long can't be held down for long, and I think it's just a matter of time before he's ranting on award show stages again. At least, I hope it is. I'd way rather roll my eyes at his latest diatribe than read that he's in the hospital or not doing well. He's like that obnoxious uncle that everyone has — you always regret inviting him to Thanksgiving, but you'd be sad if anything bad happened to him. I want West healthy and happy, especially after everything he and Kardashian have been through this year.

But there's definitely good news, too. Earlier this week, Kendall Jenner said that West is "doing OK", and even though it's not as good as hearing from the man himself, it's something. Plus, Keeping Up With The Kardashians is still filming, and that's another good sign. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he recovers quickly. I want him as happy as he is when he eats ice cream, and I don't think that's too much to ask.
