Here Are The Fashion Questions You Googled In 2016
When I have a question I need answered, there are basically two sources I turn to: my mother, and Google. And although my mom has many areas of expertise, fashion is not one of them. So I totally relate to the people who searched the most Googled fashion questions in 2016. After all, when you have a pressing question, there's basically nowhere more helpful for you to search than Google.
I don't know about you, but I'm weirdly fascinated by the things that other people are searching for on Google. What are the little questions other people secretly wonder but are too afraid to ask their friends or family? Luckily Google knows we're all a little curious about other people, and it annually releases a list of the most-Googled questions about fashion.
It's not only super interesting, but it's a fun way to see what trends were popular over the years. For example, 2015's most-Googled conundrum was "how to walk in heels." It's a question for the ages, that's for sure — no matter how many years pass, I don't think making heels comfortable for hours on end is ever going to be solved. So what were we all wondering about in 2016? Here are the top five most-Googled questions.
1. "How To Cut The Sleeves Off A T-shirt?"
Anyone else a little surprised by this? I guess '90s grunge was back with a vengeance in 2016, so cut-off T-shirts were all the rage. Here's a YouTube tutorial that will walk you through the steps.
2. "How Do I Start Modeling?"
2016 was the return of the models, and there are tons of aspiring Gigis and Kendalls out there asking this question.
3. "What Is Haute Couture?"
I mean, this one is kind of confusing, right? Haute couture literally translates in French to "high sewing" or "high dressmaking," but it basically means high fashion clothes that are made to order. The shows at Paris Fashion Week are a great example of this.
4. "How To Wear Booties With Skinny Jeans?"
This one isn't too surprising me because I've actually wondered this question myself. But it turns out this trend is surprisingly easy to figure out. Here's a good guide.
5. "When Can You Start Wearing White?"
I'm in camp "wear white all year round," but some people don't agree. Either way, it's a question people have been wondering for ages.
Isn't this list fascinating? It makes me glad other people are turning to Google to solve their problems just as much as I am.
