Monday night marked the final night of The Voice Battles: Rounds Two. Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher, and Shakira have used all of their Battles: Round Two steals, swaps, fake outs, and whatever other tricks they had tucked up their sleeves. Do you know what that means? The show is over! Oh, nope. That'd be a weird reveal, huh? What Battles: Round Two coming to an end actually means: we have a Top 20!
Oh, the Battles: Round Two. You were short-lived, but you were good. What will I miss most about Battles: Round Two? Certainly, I will hold the excellent performances in my heart always. And I genuinely enjoyed Chris Martin as an advisor. But I will never let go of Usher’s enormous coonskin cap. That cap was and is a thing of beauty. Crossing my fingers he brings it back during the live episodes.
As for Monday evening's standout moment? While Bria Kelly and Madilyn Paige's lovely performance didn’t really resonate with the coaches (what gives, coaches?!), what happened after the singing just about crushed me. Yes, it was exciting when Blake stole Madilyn after Usher saved Bria. 'Twas a very nice turn of events, indeed. BUT! Madilyn's darling little sister grinning and giving an excited thumbs up after the Battle was maybe the best moment of the night. So cute.
If the standout moment wasn't Madilyn's sister's supportive thumbs up, it was definitely Usher showing the contestants how "Climax" is done. I was NOT ready for that one (starting at the 3:17 mark):
I don't know about you, but I'm having a heck of a time keeping track of who's on which team/who is left/what month we're in. So, I've written down the Top 20:
Ryan Whyte Maloney
WOO! And with that, we keep on keepin' on.
TUESDAY NIGHT: New Playoff Rounds! What are the New Playoff Rounds, exactly? Don't ask me. I'm flying by the seat of my pants!
