Designer collaborations with lower-priced brands may have lost some of their luster, but we still get super-excited when we have the chance to snag some of our favorite labels for (waaay) less. Today's most exciting collab news will quickly have you forget about the Adam Levine for Kmart debacle of earlier this week. You don't have time for any Levine-designed nonsense, because Peter Som for Kohl's is available for purchase today.
Kohl's has been killing it when it comes to designer partnerships since 2012, with successful collections from the likes of Narcisco Rodriguez, Catherine Malandrino, Derek Lam, and now Som. The retailer has differentiated itself from competitors like Target and H&M who also make use of collaborations to boost sales by asking each designer to create a collection inspired by a specific location, according to Fashionista.
Som's collection is based on "the laid-back luxury of St. Barth's," according to the description on the Kohl's website. Priced between $38-$88, this is an affordable way to scoop up some new summer staples. Which you'll want to do immediately... because this is Peter Som we're talking about here. In short, this collection is crazy adorable and has already been spotted on the likes of Kate Bosworth.
There are edgy black-and-white stripes, colorful sundresses, and an absolutely to-die-for postcard print featured on a sweatshirt, shirtdress, and a maxi. The best part is that none of these looks feel boring or overdone. So many summer pieces are just dull floral prints that you can find anywhere, but Som takes it to a new level with bold stripes, tie-dye, eyelet, and that excellent postcard print.
