Walker's scenes were about half filmed when he passed away in November 2013. Now, Paul Walker's mother has spoken out about his brothers filling in and she sounds happy with the decision. Cheryl Walker told E! News, "[I'm] very proud of them. It is bittersweet for them to do this. They are happy to honor their brother and finish the project."

A statement released by the film explaining the decision read,

Cheryl explained that her sons enjoy being on set just as much as the production enjoys having them around. She said "[They] have had a wonderful time [on set and] are treated very graciously by the people."

Walker's costar Vin Diesel shared a picture of the brothers on set soon after the announcement. He added a heartfelt caption to the photo and ended saying, "After spending time with his biological brothers, I must say to the parents, you raised some great kids."

As stand-ins, Walker's brothers will appear in certain scenes and, according to The Wrap, "computer graphics would be used to mask any discrepancies between their bodies and his." When the brothers new role was announced, Cody wrote on Facebook, "I can now officially confirm what so many have already assumed. FF7 — let's make it great and make my bro proud." It's clear that not only are Walker's brother making him proud, they're also making their mother proud.
