Christian Siriano's Luxe Lady Fans

by Mary Avant

With the many reality TV competition shows out there promising to make every winner an instant star in their chosen field, it’s a sad reality that few of these contestants go on to have majorly publicized careers or become a household name. That’s why it’s often shocking (though somewhat rewarding for those of us who tune in season after season in hopes that a winner’s success really will take off) when contestants or winners do make a name for themselves out in the real world.

And if there’s one person in the fashion industry who’s a shining example of finding fame after the cameras stop rolling, it’s Christian Siriano, the young designer who took home a win in season four of long-running Lifetime series Project Runway . Ever since his gorgeous gowns and fabulous creations landed him the $100,000 prize to help launch his own label in 2008, the designer has quickly been racking up celebrity admirers left and right, who scramble for the chance to wear his glamorous designs on the red carpet.

To celebrate his Fall ’14 collection, a slew of these famous fans — including Dita Von Teese, Mena Suvari, and Zendaya Coleman — came out to support Siriano, wearing chic and sleek ensembles from the designer himself.

Always the polished bombshell, Von Teese stuck to her typical all-black palette with a flattering, wrapped coat dress that showed off her svelte figure and the perfect amount of leg. Pairing the look with pointy black pumps, a simple shoulder bag, and a classic red lip, Von Teese’s Christian Siriano look was a timeless ensemble that could work for any occasion (or any decade, for that matter).

Like Von Teese, Coleman sported an all-black outfit, too, though this came as quite the surprise considering the pop singer typically leans toward brighter, quirkier, and print-filled pieces. Looking all grown up in a high-neck LBD, basic black pumps, and a nude box clutch, she was almost unrecognizable with her classic-chic ensemble (and that's not a complaint from me).

Suvari injected a little more color into her outfit, pairing a cropped tee with a luxurious and lady-like full, pleated, emerald green skirt from the designer’s Fall 2014 collection. But it was the accessories — including black and white pumps and an amazing gold-trimmed satchel — that really took the outfit to the next level.

Model and The Face mentor Lydia Hearst made an appearance at the event, too, opting for a pared-down look consisting of a draped, satin dress; color-blocked heels; and a simple, shiny gold clutch.

Of all the famous faces at the collection preview, actress Isabelle Fuhrman sported the most on-season ensemble, picking a three-piece, floral-print suit that included a matching blazer and high-waist shorts, along with a little white crop top.

As chic as all of these ladies looked in their fall-friendly looks, it almost makes me wish it was time to throw on my cool-weather outfits again. Almost.
