Little Monsters Vs. The Washington Wizards

by Lia Beck

Lady Gaga fans nearly broke into the battle of the century with a most surprising foe, but now it seems everything has been settled. D.C. area Little Monsters found out that Lady Gaga's concert could have been cancelled due to the Washington Wizards participation in the NBA playoffs, but now the show has been rescheduled to an earlier date. Technically, the NBA won this round, but fans will still get their Gaga — assuming they don't have any prior engagements on the new date and time.

The problem started with the Wizards uncharacteristic success at basketball this season. The Wizards began a best-of-seven series with the Indiana Pacers on Monday and because of how the games are scheduled, if neither team has won four games by May 15, game six will be held at the Verizon Center in D.C. And what do ya know? That is the very night when Lady Gaga's performance was scheduled. The concert has now been rescheduled for May 12.

Of course, Lady Gaga fans reacted accordingly (freaked the hell out) before the new date was announced. Adding insult to injury, many of the fans who have tickets to the show previously had tickets to Gaga's D.C. show in February 2013 which was postponed due to a health issue. One such fan, Hunter Nguyen, who spoke with The Washington Post said, "I was like, ‘This is not happening. This is not happening to me again. I have a lot of friends who are going, a lot of friends who booked hotels from different cities that are coming to D.C. to see the show. We’re all pretty devastated right now, actually."

Unfortunately, this now means that Little Monsters who could make the show on May 15 but cannot on May 12, have taken to Twitter and proven that they have no concern for the fact that the Wizards haven't won a championship since 1978. That's a long time, y'all! This could be their year! Do they really not think missing Lady Gaga is worth it?

Yeah, they really don't think missing Lady Gaga is worth it.

The only way this could end up worse for Gaga fans is if the series does end up finishing before game six meaning the concert didn't need to be rescheduled in the first place and that they could have attended the show on the original date. Well, I'm sure we'll hear from them again when that happens.
