Explore Gringotts On The New 'Harry Potter' Ride

by Kaitlin Reilly

The final Harry Potter film hit theaters in 2011, but Harry Potter fans don't have to wait for a reboot in order to get a new Harry Potter experience. Universal Studios just announced the name of their latest Harry Potter ride, and from the looks of it, this ride is going to make fans very happy.

The latest Harry Potter-themed ride to hit Universal Studios will be called "Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts," and it looks EPIC. This will be the first Harry Potter ride to come to the Universal Studios theme park — currently, there is already a themed land with multiple Harry Potter rides in the Orlando theme park's sister park Islands of Adventure. The major attraction in that land is "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey," a 3D adventure ride which takes place inside Hogwarts castle. "Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts" appears to be borrowing from the Islands of Adventure ride, which is a great thing, considering that it's easily one of the best rides in either parks.

The new ride will be the center point of the new land in the Universal Studios theme park, "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Diagon Alley," which will connect with the world's "Hogsmeade" land in Islands of Adventure via the Hogwarts Express train. "Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts" will feature 360-degree themed sets, live special effects, and digital high-definition animation, all used to make the Harry Potter experience all the more realistic. Also adding to the magic of the ride? New scenes featuring the original trio — Harry, Ron, and Hermione, played by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson — will be incorporated into the ride. One thing is for certain: fans will be lining up like crazy for access to this ultimate wizard experience.

The fact that this new ride is getting so much buzz is truly telling of how much fans adore Harry Potter and want to immerse themselves in the "wizarding world." When you read one of J.K. Rowling's books or see one of the films, it's easy to imagine yourself within the world that the series has created. With modern movie magic, the ride creators at Universal Studios can now replicate the experience as close as possible to the fans' imaginations — and that's a pretty amazing thing.

Of course, there is one caveat to having the ultimate Harry Potter experience: a little thing called ticket price. To fully experience both Harry Potter-themed lands in Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, you'll shell out a whopping $136 for a one-day, two-park pass. That doesn't include the VIP experience, which allows you to skip the ride lines so you don't wait two and a half hours in the hot Florida sun.

Though it's a pricy experience, I can guarantee that Harry Potter fans will pay (and wait) for the new themed attractions in both parks. It's sure to be an incredible experience.

The Universal Studios "Diagon Alley" land will open in Summer 2014.
