Earlier today, we got our first glimpse at Disney's new, live-action Cinderella, in a teaser trailer that told us literally nothing except that we don't have to worry about the film forgetting to include shoes. Seriously, though, couldn't they have included a single shot from the film? A voiceover from one of the characters? Something? Ah, well, I'm sure we'll be sick of the actual trailer once it's out and we're being constantly bombarded by it so we might as well enjoy the calm before the publicity storm.
It'll be especially interesting to see what sort of spin Disney puts on the classic tale, especially given the glut of live-action Cinderella stories already in existence. Pick an era, an actress, and a movie studio, and I guarantee you there's a Cinderella adaptation that meets all of those requirements. I guess we as a culture just can't get enough of the idea that, no matter who you are, it's always possible to find yourself swept off your feet by a prince.
Unfortunately, there are SO many live-action Cinderella films that it's hard to keep track of them all, which is why I've compiled a list of them here- check out their trailers and see how they compare to the new Cinderella teaser!
