Is This Dress As Shocking This Time Around?

by Samantha Matthews

On Wednesday night, Jennifer Lopez stepped on stage in Bronx, NY, for her first hometown concert ever. For the comeback show, JLo re-wore her green, jungle print Versace gown from the 2000 Grammy Awards that to this day no one can forget. Even though this dress is from 14 years ago, Lopez looks just as good (if not better) in it all these years later. You go, girl! And for anyone who has a hard time getting rid of clothes from ages ago because you still love them, you can now thank Lopez for giving you a reason to hold on to them a little longer.

Although she originally wore the Versace number as a gown with a plunging neckline and sheer details, the gown was tweaked for the stage performance into a leotard version equipped with a large, gold safety-pin belt. The new version of the look also featured three safety pin closures that made the neckline far less plunging and more dance-friendly than the original. One thing that didn't change from the first to second wearing of the gown? Lopez's fierce fashion sense and endless confidence. During her initial appearance on stage, the leotard was accompanied by an open-front skirt, making it almost identical to how it originally appeared on the red carpet.

But it didn't take long for Lopez to ditch the open-front skirt and reveal her famous backside in the leotard. Once the skirt came off, she was unstoppable and extremely mobile — she even managed to ride a bicycle backwards. Lopez definitely gets major style points for this recycled number.
