Diane Kruger Designing a Bag for Jason Wu — Here's Our Best Guess At What It Might Look Like
How do I love thee, Diane Kruger? Let me count the ways. First, she’s one of those rare Hollywood creatures who can wear just about anything — from the perfect spring dress to some of the most high-fashion, couture creations on the market — and make it all look absolutely flawless. Second, her chic sense of red-carpet style always translates to the street in her effortless everyday ensembles. Third, have you seen that face? It doesn’t get any more beautiful than that. Oh, and she dates Dawson's Creek hottie Joshua Jackson plus she’s an amazingly talented actress (if you haven’t seen The Bridge, go binge-watch the first season ASAP).
And now Kruger has yet another accomplishment to add to her list: Handbag designer. That’s right, the German model-turned-actress is teaming up with none other than womenswear extraordinaire Jason Wu to design a new sure-to-be-stunning handbag. Though she unveiled the unbelievably good news in a recent interview with ELLE, we know few details about the luxury creation — which will, fittingly, be called The Diane — such as what it will look like and how soon (and how, in general) we can get our hands on the bag. But thanks to Kruger’s past bag habits, we may be able to glean a few hints at just what her Jason Wu piece may end up looking like. Here are nine of my best guesses:
1. Something gilded and geometric
Just like her everyday style, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kruger design something with a structured edge and a little gold detailing to boot.
2. Something super city chic
And you better believe it will be your carry-everywhere bag (should you be able to afford the price tag, that is).
3. Something covered in gems
The girl loves a glamorous gown, which deserves a glitzy bag to match, of course.
4. Something pretty, plain, and simple
Because The Diane is the new black.
5. Or something cute and colorful
The perfect match for your spring/summer wardrobe.
6. Something classic with a twist
Is anyone else thinking stripes and patent leather?
7. Something with an in-your-face print
The perfect pattern to give your traditional black-and-white bag a major facelift.
8. Something focused on the details
Read: A little buckle here, an emerald-and-lucite crab embellishment there.
9. Something versatile
Wear it as a shoulder bag, wear it as a cross-body bag. Whatever you do, you'll be sure to wear it with style.
